Honours Enrolment

Continuing UNSW Students


  • Read through the list of Honours Projects and contact the supervisor(s) of the project(s) which you are interested in undertaking.
  • Download the Honours Application Form and submit the completed application form to the Student Enquiries Counter, BSB Student Office (Room G27, Biological Sciences Building). Honours applications for S1-2012 are due by 4 November 2011.
  • Once your application has been approved by the Honours Coordinator, you will be sent an email in mid-January (S1 entry) or mid-July (S2 entry) with the Honours enrolment form attached. This form should be completed and signed by the supervisor(s) of your nominated project.
  • Submit the completed enrolment form to Vicky Sawatt in Room G9, Ground Floor, Wallace Wurth Building.
  • After you have received the permission letter from the Honours Coordinator, proceed to the BSB Student Office (Room G27, Biological Sciences Building) for enrolment.

Graduates of Local & International Universities


  • Choose a project from the list of Honours Projects and contact the designated supervisor(s).
  • All graduates of local (including UNSW) and international universities must apply initially through the UNSW Admissions Office. Local applicants: please refer to the 'Future Students - Local Applicants' section of the UNSW website for further information and for the application process/form. International applicants: please refer to the UNSW Apply Online website to submit your application online.
  • Once your application has been approved by the Honours Coordinator, you will be sent an email in mid-January (S1 entry) or mid-July (S2 entry) with the Honours enrolment form attached. This form should be completed and signed by the supervisor(s) of your nominated project.
  • Submit the completed enrolment form together with a certified copy of your academic transcript to Vicky Sawatt in Room G9, Ground Floor, Wallace Wurth Building.
  • After you have received the permission letter from the Honours Coordinator, proceed to the BSB Student Office (Room G27, Biological Sciences Building) for enrolment.

Health and Safety Training


It is essential that all new honours students complete Health and Safety (H&S) training in areas relevant to their field of research as soon as possible after commencing their studies.

Please refer to the H&S for Students webpage for further information on H&S training. The courses listed are provided free of charge by the Health and Safety Unit (H&S) and many are held at regular intervals. The student is responsible for booking into most courses via myUNSW.
