UNSW Corporate H&S Management System
UNSW staff and students, contractors and visitors are required to work within SoMS under the UNSW Health and Safety Management System (HSMS). This sets out minimum standards and requirements for how the work is to be conducted within the School. UNSW's HSMS uses AS/NZS 4804:2001 Health and safety management systems - General guidelines on principles, systems and supporting techniques, as its framework. It also incorporates guidance from AS/NZS 4801:2001 Health and safety management systems - Specifications with guidance for use. The system has six key elements:
