Coffs Harbour Surgeon invited to speak at World Cancer Congress in China



Dr Ned Abraham, Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the Rural Clinical School's Coffs Harbour Campus, has been invited to deliver a scientific speech at the World Cancer Congress in Beijing this month.


Ned (as he prefers to be called) is a practicing Colorectal Specialist Surgeon and will present a summary of his PhD on surgery for colorectal cancer. He is also a Captain in the Australian Army Reserve and has served with the Peace Keeping force in Bougainville.

Ned obtained his Master of Medicine and his PhD of surgery through the Faculty of Medicine, Sydney University. He was the Surgical Superintendant at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney for three years attached to the Colorectal Unit prior to moving to Coffs Harbour.

The theme of the Congress is "Gateway to Future Medicine". It is an annual conference that attracts more than 2,500 delegates. The congress Committee invites eminent professionals in their fields from countries such as United States of America, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and Unitetd Kingdom to present their latest research.
