2009 Queen's Birthday Honours List

Congratulations to those Faculty members who received an award in the 2009 Queen's Birthday Honours List. We applaud them on their service to the community through their outstanding contribution and are proud to be associated with them.

Officer of the Order of Australia

Professor Robert Graham AO
(St Vincents Clinical School)
For service to medicine, particularly through stewardship of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and research in the field of molecular cardiology

Member of the Order of Australia

Dr Michael O'Connor AM
(School of Women's and Children's Health)
For service to medicine in the fields of obstetrics and gynaecology, particularly Indigenous maternal and perinatal health and through professional organisations.

Associate Professor John Ziegler AM
(School of Women's and Children's Health)
For service to paediatric medicine in the areas of infectious disease, HIV/AIDS, and immunology and allergy as a practitioner, researcher and educator.

Medal of the Order of Australia

Associate Professor Peter Reed OAM
(Rural Clinical School, Port Macquarie Campus)
For service to medicine through education and training, and to the community of Port Macquarie.

Associate Professor David Richards OAM
(South Western Sydney Clinical School)
For service to medicine in the field of cardiology, and to the community through the Sydney City to Surf fun run.
