Learning and Teaching Awards
Congratulations to the 2008 recipients of the Faculty's Learning and Teaching Awards. The awards are based on the Australian Learning and Teaching Council Awards for University Teaching
The awards, presented in a ceremony on 3 December, and recipients are -
Award for Teaching Excellence
Chinthaka Balasooriya (School of Public Health & Community Medicine)
Awarded to a person renowned for excellence in teaching and who has made a broad and deep contribution to enhancing the quality of learning and teaching.
Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning
Nicodemus Tedla (School of Medical Sciences); Andrew Moorhouse (School of Medical Sciences) and Michael Grimm (St George Clinical School)
Awarded to persons for outstanding contribution to student learning.
Award for Innovation in Learning and Teaching
Patrick de Permentier (School of Medical Sciences)
Encompasses innovations that encourage novel approaches to learning and teaching, innovations that encourage or support multidisciplinarity, research based learning and teaching approaches, innovations that utilise the potential of new and/or emerging technologies.
