Postgraduate Studies
The Simpson Centre for Health Services Research (SCHSR) offers a unique program of multi-disciplinary research training.
You can advance your informatics research training at the Simpson Centre in a number of ways:
1. Doctorate (PhD) & Masters by research (MMed)
Our postgraduate program allows candidates to undertake advanced research, leading to a postgraduate degree under the supervision of experienced senior research staff, in one of the Simpson Centre's research areas.
The minimum requirement for entry is a Bachelors degree or equivalent in engineering, a medical or health science related degree, or other relevant discipline.
Postgraduate programs with the SCHSR are managed by the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI).

2. Internships & short research projects from another institution
We offer undergraduate honours and masters students from other institutions an opportunity to undertake short-term research in an area of their interest. Depending on requirements of their home institution, students typically work with us over a period of 3 to 6 months on a well-defined project within one of our research streams. These projects allow an outstanding opportunity for budding researchers to gain practical experience in undertaking research under the guidance of a domain expert, and provides exposure to life in a multidisciplinary research centre.
