MyCompass Research Study
 | Using myCompass, a newly developed internet and mobile phone based program, you can now learn to better manage your stress, worry and low mood.
We are looking for people to take part in our research study.
Who is eligible? You can take part in this opportunity if you:
- Are aged 18-75 years and live in Australia
- Have access to a computer with an internet connection
- Have a valid email address
- Are feeling stressed, worried or low
- Have an internet-enabled mobile phone
What is involved?
As part of this 19-week research project, you will be asked to use a version of the myCompass
program for 7 weeks in your own time. This will give you access to useful information and activities that will help you stay positive despite life’s ups and downs. You will learn how different situations affect you and how to better manage your worry, stress and low mood.
All that’s required from you is to complete questionnaires on 3 occasions: before you start using the program, after 7 weeks and again 12 weeks later. Participants who complete all three questionnaires will be entered into a draw to win vouchers to the value of $500, $300 and $200.

Participate in UNSW “Facebook for Health” research – Enter draw for $500 Westfield gift voucher
All UNSW staff and students are invited to take part in the "Facebook for Health" research study, which is being conducted online by the UNSW Centre for Health Informatics (HREC no. 10109):
Use a new website called ‘Healthy.me’ (developed at UNSW) to manage your health and answer a few short questionnaires. All eligible participants will enter into a draw to win a $500 Westfield gift voucher as an incentive for participation!

JoVE
The Library now provides complete access to all of the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE). JoVE publishes streaming videos on experimental approaches.
SFX linking
The Library has set up SFX linking from Pubmed. The SFX link appears on the right hand side of the abstract page of a record and will link you to the full text of the article, if available. You will need to access Pubmed via the Library catalogue or Sirius to see the SFX links.
New e books
A number of new e books have been added to the Library collection including; Oxford Handbook of Clinical Specialties, Devita, Hellman & Rosenberg's Cancer: Principles & Practice of Oncology and The 5-Minute Sports Medicine Consult.

Medical Humanities and the Arts and Health Foundation invite you to hear six speakers representing different universities within New South Wales who will present on a diverse range of programs that link the Arts and Medicine and Health.
Speakers:
- Dr Stewart Dunn and Dr Paul Heinrich (University of Sydney and Pam McClean Communication Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital). Theatre, drama and medical education.
- Alison Liew Creighton PhD student (Babylab Research Centre, University of Western Sydney) Song and mother-child bond.
- Paul Bennett Health Education Officer (Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health). The community and medical education.
- Professor David Bennett (University of Sydney, Westmead Childrens' Hospital). Youth Arts Program at the Adolescent Medical Unit.
- Kris Smith (Associate Lecturer, School of Drama Fine Art and Music, University of Newcastle). The use of digital media in the "Self-Portait" Phase of the "Growing up with Cancer" ARC Project - a study of how cancer influences the transition from adolescence to adulthood.
