Dear Alumni and friends,
It is with great pleasure I welcome you back to 'Prognosis' the UNSW Medicine e-newsletter developed for you, our alumni.
We have had another busy and exciting year.
It is with great pleasure I can announce The Australian Advanced Treatment Centre at UNSW will go ahead on the Prince of Wales Hospital Campus and be directly integrated into the new Comprehensive Cancer Centre at the Prince of Wales Hospital.
This represents a great achievement from all parties with a lot of hard work involved.
Work continues on the Wallace Wurth building. This $127 million project is the revitalising of the most important building at the medical school - the Wallace Wurth Building (which will be completed in 2014).
During October we held our most successful Dean's Lecture ever titled 'Happy and healthy ageing: paradox or possibility' with over 1100 people registering making it the largest faculty based event held at UNSW. The lecture also generated much media interest. Read more about this in the newsletter.
As always, we remain committed to engaging, connecting and celebrating you, our alumni in the coming year.
Please continue to contact us with your feedback and pass this on to other alumni students. We look forward to hearing from you all.
Best wishes for the Festive Season and for 2012.
Professor Peter Smith,
Dean, UNSW Medicine
