Citrix Information for MACs

Setting up Citrix for access to the New South Solutions Financial Systems behind a Hospital Firewall, on a Macintosh

1. Download the Citrix client if you haven't already from http://www.nss.unsw.edu.au/nss/about/nss_gstart_software.html. The file will be been downloaded onto the desktop as below:
   
   
   
   
2. Double-click on it to expand it into the installer folder. Open the folder:
   
   
   
   
3. Run the installer (The installer should be run with extensions off, this is accomplished by holding down the shift key when restarting the mac). Press continue.
   
4. Press install and follow instructions
   
   
   
   
5. Click Quit when finished. This will leave a folder on your Hard Disk called Citrix ICA Client.
   
6. Now Complete Step 3 as seen in the image above - open the folder labelled Step 3 in the Citrix folder and move the Preference file into the Preferences folder in your system folder. Ignore Step 2 as this will done in the ICA Client Editor in the next step.

Configuring the Citrix ICA Client Editor

1. Open the folder Citrix ICA Client:
   
   
   
   
2. Double-click on the Citrix ICA Client Editor, configurations for your hospital connections may be set up as below:
   
   

Fill in details as above with the following provisos:

• For Liverpool Hospital for Server: put in 10.32.0.11:1494 instead of citrix.unsw.edu.au
• For connection to financial system, username is tunnel-nss-fin and password is nss-fin
• For connection to human resources system, username is tunnel-nss-he and password is nss-he

After completing your settings press Save and choose a name eg. NSS-FIN-Hospital or NSS-HE-Hosptial, the file is created in the Citrix ICA Client Folder.

DO NOT save as CITRIX.UNSW.EDU.AU as this will not work. You may use these icons to make aliases which can be placed in the apple menu folder (in system folder) or on the desktop for convenient use.

Your computer should now be restarted so that the extensions will be on again .
