Option 1 - Local Printer
This option also requires the printer to be a local not a network printer. It also requires the printer you want to use to be your default printer. This method allows you to rename your default printer to one of two names - "NSS-PCL" for pcl printers and "NSS-PS" for postscript printers. If you rename your printer to one of these printer names, NSS will automatically use the predefined printer driver, as in the table below.
Setup Instructions:
1. Locally on your PC - Install printer as a Local Printer (note: this may already be done).
2. Make sure that this is set as the Default Printer (right click on icon and select Set as Default)
3. Rename the Local Printer as "NSS-PS" or "NSS-PCL" depending on the list below.
4. If you already have a citrix session open close it and reopen it so that it can map to this "new" local printer.
The following table shows the emulations supported and the actual driver loaded by NSS when the printer is renamed to NSS-PS or NSS-PCL:
| Name | Emulation | Supported Driver loaded under NSS |
| NSS-PCL | PCL5 | HP LaserJet 4 |
| NSS-PS | PostScript V2,3 | AdobePS Default PostScript Printer. |
If the print job comes out garbled then your printer doesn't support these standard drivers and this method cannot be used.
