Professor Ric Day is the director of the Therapeutics Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital, home of PHUM. The Therapeutics Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital manages an extensive clinical drug trial program and serves as a major vehicle in the advancement and promotion of the ‘Quality of Use of Medicines’.

Professor Day is also Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of New South Wales, Director of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Chairman of the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Health & Rational Use of Medicine Advisory Committee (PHARM), and a consultant to the WHO Collaborating Center for International Drug Monitoring.

As Director of PHUM, Associate Professor Andrea Mant oversees the management of PHUM and the research program. Professor Mant’s research has demonstrated the feasibility of using existing Australian databases to address specific research questions relating population health outcomes to patterns of community drug use.

Professor Mant is Area Adviser for the Quality Use of Medicines at South East Sydney/Illawarra Area Health Service and has a conjoint appointment in the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales. Professor Mant is a member of the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and chairs the Drug Utilisation Subcommittee of the PBAC, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Therapeutic Guidelines Ltd, and serves on the WHO Expert Group on Drug Statistics Methodology. She has previously chaired the Prescriber Intervention Program Working Group of the National Prescribing Service.
