- Our Professional Education Group builds on this expertise to provide advice, consultancy and undertake research on adult education and pedagogical issues
- Our staff have a commitment to capacity enhancement and human resource development and contribute to building leadership capabilities among health personnel and health service managers and policy makers in Australia and further afield
- We are a leading Australian provider of quality masters programs in the fields of public health and health services management.
- We are able to work with health service partner organisations to devise educational and training programs to tackle the next generation of issues facing health systems and health care providers.
- Our postgraduate masters programs offer plans in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology and Control, International Health and Development, Health Promotion and Primary Health Care. Our programs in Public Health and Management are aligned with key graduate attributes and have recently been revised after extensive consultation with stakeholders.
- We are happy to feed our expertise into partnerships with other institutions both in Australia and abroad. We recognise that international partnerships need to build long term sustainable relationships.
Research
- We have an extensive range of research activities underway – both within the School and with the wide range of Research Centres associated with us.
- Our research is focused on a number of key areas: preventing and managing major health problems, health services and systems, and social justice, ethics, equity and diversity.
- Our staff and Research Centres are supervising over 100 research degree students working with us on cutting edge research issues. People with ideas regarding future study can contact Nick Zwar (Research degrees) and Kate Crosbie (Research ideas)
Service
- Our staff are involved in service to the community (locally and internationally) as well as to professional associations, non-government organisations, area and national health services, and policy-making bodies both in Australia and abroad. We seek to add value through our involvement with these different bodies and are keen to learn of ways in which we might assist.
