Tissue Processing The Histology lab is equipped with Shandon Excelsior ES Tissue Processor. The processor can process up to 220 specimens at a time and has variable programs for different specimens ranging from biopsy to larger specimens. Slide Printer Histology Microscope slides are labelled using the Leica IP S Inkjet Printer The ink used is resistent to chemical exposure and physical exposure Tissue Sectioning The Histology Laboratory has 2 Leica RM microtomes and a Shandon Finesse microtome. Our staff are highly trained to section all your paraffin blocks. Frozen Tissue Sectioning The Unit has the Shandon Cryotome SME for sectioning frozen tissue. A major feature of the cryostat is its Auto disinfection capability that allows infectious tissue to be cut on this unit.
