Research

The Exercise and Health research unit was formed in 2005 to consolidate the research activities of staff and postgraduate students involved in the Health and Exercise Science Program. The core research theme centres on how exercise can be used to improve health. Within this broad theme, individual groups target a small number of more specific research questions; such as how exercise can reduce the harmful effects of stress, and how to optimize the benefits of weight lifting exercise.

We aim to conduct human research that generates information relating the maintenance and restoration of health that is of genuine value to the community. Visit the relevant links for more detailed descriptions of the research activities of individual laboratories within the unit.
