NDARC Education Trust (NET)

Over the years, NDARC has increasingly been approached to provide information and training to a wide variety of workers in the field, as well as members of the public. To assist in coping with this demand the NDARC Education Trust (NET) has been created. NET is a separate arm of NDARC that specialises in providing education, resources and training to a variety of audiences.

NET can provide the following services to individuals, community groups, health and law enforcement agencies locally, nationally and at an international level:

  • development of publications designed for specific target audiences
  • delivery of training workshops, as well as information and education sessions
  • conference organisation and event management
  • consultancy advice
Some of the groups that have benefited from the Trust’s services include alcohol and other drug workers, teachers, law enforcement personnel and local government workers.

With access to the latest research and statistical data, NET has been able to provide informed training programs to a range of community, health and law enforcement professionals. The trainers delivering workshops and lectures have access to the best resources in the field and can structure relevant programs tailored to their audience. NET can provide highly qualified trainers, some with teaching backgrounds, all with many years of experience in the alcohol and other drug research field. They have delivered training programs to a variety of audiences both within Australia and internationally. Brief biographies of our trainers are available on the NDARC website. Copies of trainers’ CVs are available on request.

One of the key roles of NET has been the development and distribution of resources. Over the years NDARC and NET have developed an extremely successful series of resources which have proven extremely popular with both workers in the field, as well as drug users. These include booklets called Club Drugs, Heroin, What You Need to Know About Methadone…And Other Treatment Options, A User’s Guide To Speed and a range of resources dedicated to cannabis. These booklets have arisen from specific projects after interviewees have asked for more information on their drug of choice. Details of these resources can be found here.
