The Australian Chronic Hepatitis C Observational Study (ACHOS)

The Australian Chronic Hepatitis C Observational Study (ACHOS) began recruitment in April 2008. It is prospective cohort study of people aged at least 18 years with chronic hepatitis C (HCV) infection attending primary care and tertiary level clinics in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, and South Australia.

The main aims of the study are: to establish a database of information about these patients; monitor levels of antiviral therapy uptake, and factors that predict uptake; determine antiviral response rates and factors that predict response. Recruitment was completed at the end of 2009.
