Changing your Medicine Domain Password for PCs

Please read this first - Requirements for selecting a new Medicine Domain Password

Windows NT Workstation / Windows 2000 Pro / Windows XP

  • Press Control-Alt-Delete
  • Click on "Change Password..."
  • Type in your old password, followed by your new password (twice)
  • Make sure your password has a mixture of punctuation marks and numbers, preferably upper and lower case

Windows 95/98/ME

  • Open your Control Panel (Start, Settings, Control Panel)
  • Double click on the "Passwords" icon
  • You should see the following:



  • Click on "Change Windows Password..."
  • You should see the following:


  • Click on Microsoft Networking and then click on "OK" Type in your old password, followed by your new password (twice)
  • This will change both your local windows password as well as your Medicine Domain password

If your password expires, you will be prompted to reset your password when you first log into your computer. As soon as you reset your password, you may need to reboot your computer for the change to take effect. Also, you will need to reset your local windows password, otherwise you will be asked for two passwords each time you log into windows - your new domain password as well as the local windows password. To change your local windows password, go into the Control Panel, double click on Passwords, then click on Change Windows Password, but this time, do not choose "Microsoft Network". Enter the old and new password.
