A key role of the HRH Hub is to establish partnerships with other organisations, institutions and individuals working in HRH and related areas. Following is a link to some of our key partner organisations:



The HRH Global Resource Centre (GRC) - A service of CapacityPlus, led by IntraHealth International, the GRC is a global library of human resources for health resources focused on developing countries. The GRC provides HRH planners and practitioners with access to high-quality information needed to make smarter health workforce decisions to achieve national health objectives and support healthy communities.



The Maternal Health Task Force (MHTF) - The MHTF at EngenderHealth contributes to shaping collective efforts to improve maternal health worldwide. Supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the MHTF serves as a catalyst to address one of the most neglected areas in global health.




The White Ribbon Alliance - Is an international coalition bound together by a common goal: to ensure that pregnancy and childbirth are safe for all women and newborns in every country around the world.




The Pacific Open Learning Health Net (POLHN) provides online and hybrid courses, course materials and health information to health professionals in the Pacific Island countries through its course management system at www.polhn.org. Currently, over 100 continuing education courses are being offered in key areas relevant to health to health professionals in Pacific island countries.

The Hub can provide excellent opportunities and supervision for those wishing to undertake a Research Degree with a focus on on human resources for health or a related topic. Following is a list postrgraduate research students working within the gudiance of the Hub:

Ponndara Ith


Looking at HRH Issues in Maternal Mortality in Cambodia
Ponndara is a medical doctor from Prey Veng Provincial Hospital in Cambodia. He has been twice awarded AusAID-funded scholarships: first, the Australian Development Scholarship (2002) to complete his Masters Degree in Public Health at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and second, the Australian Leadership Awards Scholarship to undertake a doctoral degree. His dissertation, Workforce competencies in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, will investigate the quality of care in maternal and neonatal health.

Rachel Nicols


Looking at the Use of the Media in Adolescent Reproductive Health
Rachel began full time study for a PhD at the School of Public Health and Community Medicine in 2010. Her thesis topic will look at health messages in the entertainment media (i.e. TV, theatre, film, radio, computer games) and how these messages have been developed for adolescent audiences. Specifically, what processes and partnerships are involved in developing these messages in Australian and international contexts and do they reflect public health priorities and utilise current evidence? In addition, case studies of previous programs will be examined. Prior to starting her PhD, Rachel worked in New Zealand as a Health Promotion Advisor and completed a Master of Public Health. When not studying, she is kept busy being a mother to a 2 ½ year old toddler named Alexander and enjoys being in the great outdoors.

>HRH SCHOLARSHIPS


Two Human Resources for Health (HRH) Scholarships in Health Systems Strengthening in the Asia Pacific Region are being offered through the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2012. Applications are open to domestic students and will close on 30th May 2012. Find out more about the HRH Scholarships.


>EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES


WHO: Coordinator of Human Resources for Health
Applications are now open for the position of Coordinator of Human Resources for Health, with the World Health Organization's Health Systems and Services unit based in Geneva, Switzerland. Applications close on 4th June 2012.

NSW Ministiry of Health: Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence
Applicants are being sought for nine positions created in the the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence. The Centre aims to produce timely, high quality epidemiological reports; develop innovative systems for data collection, analysis and reporting; and drive the NSW Health’s population health strategic agenda by building the evidence base and translating it into policy and practice and through enhancing capability for population health research and workforce. The Centre comprises three Branches: Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Public Health Intelligence; and Evidence and Evaluation Branch. Applications close on 22nd May 2012.
